Balochistan package to be tabled tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned a joint session of parliament on Tuesday at 3pm. The government would present a special package prepared for the uplift of Balochistan during the session, summoned in pursuance of the powers conferred upon the president under Article 54(1) of the constitution.

This package has been prepared by a PPP parliamentary committee led by Senator Raza Rabbani and is aimed at giving indemnity to political prisoners, bringing nationalist parties into mainstream politics and the recovery of missing persons. It also aims at giving Balochistan a special share in the profits generated from its natural resources. staff report
